As a general definition, an influencer is a person that has a solid following and has influence in a particular niche, which they actively engage with. The size of the following will depend on the size of the niche really. An influencer in fashion can often have much larger following than an influencer in pets, for instance.

The bulk of digital influencer marketing today occurs in social media, predominantly with micro influencers, and bloggers. Industry experts and thought leaders such as journalists can also technically be considered influencers and hold an important position for brands.

At Press Loft, we classify a social influencer as someone with 5000+ genuine followers on at least one social channel: Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, TikTok or Twitter.

For bloggers, we look for a minimum DA (Domain Authority) score of 15.

We verify each new influencer registration in our system before approving them with access, to ensure their content and following are relevant for brand collaborations.
